Brand Story

Charcoal Udonthani was founded in Kud Chap, Udon Thani, by Tepparit Karngaow and Jenchira Tama. What began as a small, hands-on workshop grew from a simple focus: producing charcoal that burns consistently, cleanly, and predictably.

The early years were shaped by trial and discipline. Batches that failed to meet standards were not sold. They were studied and improved. This mindset created a controlled production process that still defines the brand today.

Charcoal Udonthani now operates as part of Khokbawa Group, contributing real production experience to the group’s broader biomass, biochar, and clean energy strategy.

The Briquette

Our charcoal briquettes are made using biochar and recycled biomass, without chemical binders or ignition agents.

Biochar gives the briquettes stability. They burn evenly, last longer, and produce minimal smoke. Controlled compression ensures consistent shape and density, resulting in predictable heat, low ash, and reliable performance for both professional kitchens and everyday cooking.

Because the briquettes are chemical-free, combustion is clean, with less odor and reduced smoke exposure around food. The result is a safer, calmer cooking environment and more efficient fuel use.

Chemical-Free and Clean by Design

No chemicals are added at any stage of production.

The briquettes ignite naturally and burn with minimal smoke and odor. This creates a cleaner cooking environment, reduces exposure for those working close to the fire, and avoids unwanted residue around food.

Clean combustion is not achieved through additives. It comes from material choice and process control.

Infrastructure and Vertical Control

Charcoal Udonthani designs and manufactures its own briquetting machines, originally built to support in-house production.

Building and operating these machines allows full control over compression, quality, and output stability. Over time, these machines proved reliable enough to become products themselves and are now sold to small producers and entrepreneurs.

The Udon Thani facility is also being developed as a biochar packaging and preparation hub. In the future, it will handle drying, grading, and packaging of biochar, supporting Khokbawa Group’s expanding biochar operations and creating a centralized point for quality control.

Market Focus and Growth Path

Today, Charcoal Udonthani sells exclusively in Udon Thani, where consistent demand already exceeds available supply.

The next stage of growth is the Bangkok market, where the briquettes will be positioned as a premium fuel for professional kitchens and quality-focused retailers.

Beyond Thailand, the long-term objective is international export, bringing both briquettes and machines to new markets once production capacity, logistics, and standards are fully aligned.

Part of Khokbawa Group

Within Khokbawa Group, Charcoal Udonthani serves as a practical foundation.

It is where materials are tested, processes are proven, and scale is prepared through repetition and use. Before ideas grow larger, they must first work reliably in heat, in hands, and in daily operation.

That discipline is what travels.
